Privacy Policy

Account: your email address and sign-in credentials, managed by our authentication provider, Clerk. We store an anonymous account identifier alongside your data — not your password.

Billing: handled entirely by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never reaches us; we store only your Stripe customer reference and subscription status. Stripe also collects your billing address to calculate applicable sales tax.

Your content: the watchlists, portfolios, and holdings you enter (tickers, share counts, average costs, currencies), stored so they follow you across devices.

Usage: privacy-friendly, cookieless page analytics via Vercel Web Analytics (aggregate page views — no cross-site tracking, no ad profiles), and short-lived request logs for security and rate limiting.

If you join the Algorithmic Trade Ideas waitlist, we store the email you submit for that purpose only.

To provide the service you pay for: authenticating you, syncing your watchlist and portfolios, charging your subscription, sending transactional email (sign-in codes, receipts), preventing abuse, and understanding aggregate usage. That’s it — no selling or renting personal information, no third-party advertising.

When the app fetches quotes for tickers you track, our servers request that data from Yahoo Finance and FINRA. Those requests contain ticker symbols, not your identity.

StockDash runs on a small set of infrastructure providers, each processing only what their role requires: Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments and tax), Neon (database), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and Upstash (rate limiting). Some providers process data in the United States.

We use essential session cookies from Clerk to keep you signed in — nothing for advertising. Your browser’s local storage holds small preferences (theme choice, table column settings) and a local cache of your watchlist for fast loading.

Your data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and its data (portfolios, watchlist, and account records), email support@stockdash.ca from your account email and we’ll complete the deletion. Records that Stripe must keep for tax and accounting compliance are retained by Stripe per its own policy.

Under Canada’s PIPEDA (and similar laws elsewhere), you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — same address as above. We’ll respond within 30 days.
